When is the best time to prune camellias?

well there are two times that i would suggest.. if you are looking for shaping.. after they are done blooming, the blooms can be SO heavy that you don't have a good idea where the branches should be.. if you have already shaped it.. but you would like to control the blooms, wait until the buds are starting out (when the buds are still small) and trim just the ends of the branches.. I would suggest doing the trimming after the blooms are done, but either way will not hurt the plant.

Reply:You should prune ruight after flowering. Remove dead or weak wood and thin when growth is too thick for flowers.
