How do I start a plant off a branch clipped from a Camellia bush?

I'm in zone 7. I have a south faceing front yard.

How do I start a plant off a branch clipped from a Camellia bush?
Yes, rooting-hormone can effectively force the branch to send roots into the soil. I wouldn't use any fertilizer like Miracle-Gro though. Before a cutting has any real roots, any fertilizer could cause the wood to rot. Apply the fertilizer only after it has produced new growth.
Reply:Plant it in the sun and add sand to the soil, should root quick, put some miracle grow on it.
Reply:I don't know what zone 7 is, but if you dip the bottom of the cutting in some propagating powder and pot it for a few weeks this should help ensure it has a decent chance at getting a root system going, the powder is available at any gardening supply store and well priced.
